PLANNING YOUR RALEIGH SPRING MINI SESSION

What to expect, how to prepare, and how to make the most of a short-and-sweet session

If you’re considering a Raleigh spring mini session, you probably have a few questions like what to wear, how these sessions work, and whether a mini can still feel meaningful. These blog posts walk you through the experience with real examples, honest advice, and tips to help you show up relaxed and ready. From timing and wardrobe guidance to making the most of a shorter session, this is everything I want families to know before booking their spring mini photos.

In 2025, I offered just one date for my Raleigh spring mini sessions, and I held them at one of my favorite locations in the Triangle, the North Carolina Museum of Art Park.

Spring family photos in Raleigh can be tricky. One week, the trees look bare and you’re wondering if it’s worth scheduling a session at all. A few weeks later, everything explodes in green, and suddenly the landscape feels alive, vibrant, and ready for photos.

If you are planning spring family photos in Durham, NC, these are the locations I recommend most often, based on years of photographing families here and seeing what actually works in real life.
