How Many Photos Do You Get In a Family Session? A Guide to Raleigh Family Photography Packages
If you’re searching for this, you’re probably trying to figure out what you’re actually getting when you book a family photographer in Raleigh.
So let me just answer it first.
The short answer? If you choose to work with me: 75+ images. But more importantly, you get the full story, not just a small selection of it.
Why This Question Matters More Than You Think
Most parents aren’t actually focused on the number. They’re thinking about what happens after the session.
Will you open your gallery and feel relief and excitement… or will you feel like you have to sit down and narrow your memories into a small handful of images?
Because those are two very different experiences and I personally believe you deserve the former.
How Many Photos Do You Get In A Raleigh Family Photography Session With Me?
For my signature family sessions (1 hour or longer), you’ll receive:
A full gallery of high-resolution, edited images (typically 75+ photos)
A print release, so you can print and share your images however you’d like, even if they’re not with my print shop
There’s no second step where you have to choose what you can afford. No sales session. No pressure.
You just get your photos. All of them.
Why I Include The Full Digital Gallery
When we do our own family photos, I personally choose all-inclusive photographers. Every time.
Because I know what it feels like to scroll through images of your kids and think:
I love this one.
But I also love this one.
And this one feels like them.
And this one feels like us.
And suddenly you’re trying to assign value to moments that all matter.
I don’t think that’s how this should work. Because these photos aren’t just for right now.
Yes, you might print a few favorites for your walls. Maybe you create an album or share a handful with family.
But these images?
They’re your legacy.
They’re for:
the version of you a few years from now
your kids when they’re older
your future grandkids who want to see what your family’s love felt like
What if your favorite image isn’t your favorite yet?
You should have access to all of it. I’m not going to be the entrepreneur who stands in the way of that.
High-Resolution Images With Print Release
Every gallery includes high-resolution digital files with a print release, which means you can:
Print through your own lab (my Pic-Time shop, Mpix, local print shops, wherever you prefer)
Share your images with family and friends
Revisit and print more photos years down the line
Your life will change. Your home will change. Your photos should be able to grow with you.
A Chapel Hill Family Session That Reminded Me Why This Matters
Last December, I photographed a multigenerational family session in Chapel Hill.
Great-grandmother flew in from Mexico. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins also flew in from out of state. The session was centered around a little girl turning three, but it was really about everything surrounding her and the love, connection, and beautiful chaos of hosting that many people.
The mom told me they had recently moved and were having a hard time finding a photographer whose work truly felt like them. What ultimately made her choose me?
She didn’t have to choose her images.
After I delivered their gallery, she shared:
These are really just incredible - I'm so overjoyed, I don't have any words. Also, reflecting back, this photo shoot almost didn't happen, and I'm so thankful it did. [We] were on a few hours of sleep that day, and continued to be sleep deprived for the week. [Husband’s] health was up and down, entertaining family was so rewarding but exhausting. It was a rough end to 2025. These photos make me forget all of that. Thank you!
And that’s exactly it.
Because the moments that feel small when you’re in them are often the ones that matter most later.
Why Raleigh And The Triangle’s Many Backdrops Naturally Create Full Galleries
One of the things I love about photographing families in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill is how much variety we get without even trying.
Between places like Joyner Park, NCMA, and quiet neighborhood spots, your session naturally includes:
different backdrops
changing light
movement and stillness
big moments and quiet ones
Your gallery easily becomes a full story. It wouldn’t feel right to only give you part of that.
Choosing A Raleigh Family Photographer Is About More Than The Number
I tell my clients this all the time:
You’re not just choosing what you get after your session.
You’re choosing:
someone who understands your family’s dynamic
someone who can see and document your joy
someone you trust in real, intimate moments
someone who delivers what you need now and later
The number of photos matters. But the experience, and what you walk away with, matters more.
Want The Full Story Instead Of Just A Few Images?
If you’re looking for a Raleigh family photographer who offers full galleries without the pressure to choose, I’d love to meet you.
Because your family’s story isn’t made up of just a few moments.
And your photos shouldn’t be either.
