Duncan Family Photo Session at NCMA Park

After giving birth to my third baby in September 2023 and taking three months of maternity leave, I wanted to come back to Raleigh family photography in a way that felt genuine to the Devin Desjarlais Photography brand (that brand is me). So I announced a 1-hour family photo session giveaway and shared it with all of the local mom groups I could find. I wanted to share my creative energy and power as a new-again mom to other moms who deserve to be recognized for everything they bring to this world.

The response was incredible! The post-partum period is exhausting, exhilerating, and challenging. In the fog of late nights and shifting of hormones, it’s easy to question your worth as a mom, a person, and as a creative person. The community’s response to my giveaway lifted me up in a big way. You guys reminded me that my art has worth when I was feeling lost.
